EssayBay Press Australian Helicopter Parents Take Aim On School Tests

Release Date: 11th February 2008
Reference Number: EsBy016

EssayBay.com have recently conducted a customer profiling exercise and found that 70% of Australian customers are using the service with the full consent of a parent or guardian. The survey has also revealed that of those 70%, 90% of parents or guardians had made a contribution of 50% or more to the final cost.

EssayBay.com spoke to one concerned parent who cited a lack of faith in the school assessment methods as the motive for using the service. The parent told a member of the customer care team;
‘I’ve been told by my child’s teacher that results of tests are moved until they show a good result for the whole school. So the grades we get given aren’t the grades of my child. So we decided to make sure that they are at the top of all their classes.’

This appears to be is a shared belief among many parents, and EssayBay.com are finding an increasing variation in the ages and academic levels of customers – some essays are being bought for students as young as twelve.

Many of EssayBay.com’s other customers cited extra commitments such as sports, family or other extra-curricular activities as the motive for using EssayBay. Over 82% of customers had turned to EssayBay because they felt huge pressure to succeed from parents or teachers. While almost 100% believed that the rising cost of a quality education was to blame for high expectations.

EssayBay.com believe that testing only measures a child’s ability to take tests and only a full time teacher should be able to make a decision about a child’s academic ability.

Since launching in Australia in 2007, EssayBay have seen sales double every month and they now boast a stable of writers with Australian National, Melbourne and Harvard University educations. They have also imported their best writers from the UK who trained at Oxford or Cambridge. EssayBay.com operates as a services auction site, connecting students and academics throughout the world.
