Description Using argumentation-persuasion, develop one of the topics below in an essay. After choosing a topic, think about your response and audience. Remember that the paper's thesis should state the issue under discussion as well as your position on the issue. As you work on developing evidence, you will want to do some outside research. Keep in mind that effective argumentation-persuasion usually means that some time should be spent acknowledging and perhaps refuting opposing points of view. Be careful not to sabotage your argument by basing your case on a logical fallacy.

TOPICS

1.Euthanasia (Agree)

2.Prayer in Schools (Against)

3.Giving Birth Control to Teenagers(Agree)

4.Smoking in Public Places (Against)

5.The Drinking Age (Agree with current laws)

6.Reinstating the Draft/Requiring Military Service of all 18-year-olds (Against)

This project is not due until April 27th but I need to get a copy of a working thesis statement for the chosen topic along with the three or four topics for your body paragraphs AND some of the examples you'll use in those body paragraphs by April 24th.

Please remember this is an English Comp essay and a strong thesis statement that will be proven is needed for a good paper along with excellent grammar.

The paper needs to be 4 pages using the following format. This page requirement is not a suggestion.

Doubled Spaced

Times New Roman Font

12 Point Font

Black Ink

Do not use second person

MLA Format

1 inch margins

Make sure you include an introductory paragraph, one that adequately introduces the topic you have chosen, and include a concluding paragraph as well, one that reflects on what your paper proved and how you proved it

All of the details within your essay need to be necessary and relevant to your thesis. Don’t stray from your topic

Think very carefully about how you organize the body of your essay. Each body paragraph needs a topic sentence (the one sentence that lets readers know what the topic of a paragraph is), and you should transition smoothly between each body paragraph.
