Freedom of Speech and the Internet

Simply go to a search engine (Lycos is fairly good) and type in the key words: "freedom of speech and the Internet".
Read the various Web sites that appear, keeping in mind that, although the authors may cite a variety of sources, some of what they write is opinion.

As you read this material, think about some of the arguments used for censorship (such as that it protects children from pornography and helps governments deal with terrorism) and the arguments for absolute freedom of speech.

Answer the following questions:

a. Do you think there are any instances in which it is okay to limit speech? Explain and give examples.

b. Can there be such a thing as compromise with freedom of speech? Explain.

c. Do you have any ideas on how to solve the complicated issue of freedom of speech on the Internet while addressing some of the concerns of people who want certain material on the Internet limited or censored? WRITE THREE PARAGRAPHS.
